Steak Crostini

Ingredients

1 French loaf , sliced into 1 and a half cm slices 
60 ml oil , for brushing
500 g tenderised steak , 2 and a half cm thick
30 ml oil
salt & freshly ground black pepper
250 ml LANCEWOOD® Smokey Onion & Mustard Cream Cheese
250 ml LANCEWOOD® Medium Fat Smooth Balsamic & Onion Cottage Cheese
20 g rocket leaves

To serve:

pickled onion(s) , sliced
rosa tomatoes , sliced

Method

Preheat the oven grill.

Place the slices of French loaf on a large baking sheet lined with baking paper.

Brush the slices with oil on one side, turnover and brush on the other side. Pop into the oven and toast for 1 to 2 minutes until golden brown. Then flip over and repeat with the other side.

Meanwhile preheat a griddle pan to very hot. Season the steak with salt and pepper and brush with oil. Fry the steak over high heat for 2 minutes on each side. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Place the crostini’s on a serving board along with cream cheese and cottage cheese. Add the tomatoes, rocket and sliced pickled onions to the board. Cut the steak into thin slices and transfer to the serving board.

Allow guests to build their own crostini’s. Enjoy!
