Grilled Hake & White Sauce

Ingredients

oil  for brushing
4 hake fillets
30 ml butter , melted
salt & freshly ground black pepper  to taste
250 ml LANCEWOOD Sauce Delightâ„¢ White Sauce

Method

Line a baking sheet with foil and lightly brush with oil.

Place the hake fillets on the lined baking sheet and brush lightly with butter. Season to taste.

Place on the middle shelf under a heated grill and grill for 10 – 15 minutes or until fish flakes when touched.

Heat the white sauce according to the heating instructions on the pack and pour over grilled hake just before serving.

Serve with salad and baked potatoes.

Sauce variation:

  • Mustard sauce: Add a tablespoon of wholegrain mustard to the white sauce and mix through. Heat and serve.
  • Garlic sauce: Crush a clove of garlic (or more to taste) and add to the white sauce. Gently heat through to cook garlic slightly and serve.
  • Lemon butter sauce: Add the juice of half a lemon to the white sauce. Heat through and whisk in 30 ml melted butter and serve.
