Bitterballen

Ingredients

Bitterballen:

250 ml LANCEWOOD Sauce Delightâ„¢ Cheese Sauce
1 small onion(s) finely grated
45 ml wholegrain mustard
60 ml italian parsley , finely chopped
500 g lean beef mince
2 beef stock cube(s) , finely grated
salt & freshly ground black pepper  to taste
oil , for deep frying

Coating:

250 ml cake flour
3 large egg(s) beaten
250 ml breadcrumbs

To serve:

mustard
tomato sauce
sweet chilli mayonnaise , (125 ml mayonnaise mixed with 60 ml sweet chilli sauce) 

Method

Line a baking sheet with absorbent paper.

Bitterballen:
Mix the cheese sauce, onion, parsley, mince and beef stock together until well combined and leave to stand for 10 minutes.

Season to taste and roll into small walnut-sized balls.

Coating:
Dip the balls in the flour, then egg and then breadcrumbs and place on the lined baking sheet. Refrigerate until needed.

Heat the oil to medium heat and fry the Bitterballen for 3 – 4 minutes or until golden and crispy.

Drain on absorbent paper.

To serve:
Serve with mustard, tomato sauce and sweet chilli mayonnaise.
